So how it all works?
Katalyo is a component based no-code platform from top to bottom. Resource is the name of the main building block and you will use various resources in diverse ways to build full blown applications. It’s simple, fast and scalable.
Tell me about Resources
Since resouces are used to build physical products in the same way we use digital resources to build digital products i.e. applications.
This is why the foundation of the Katalyo platform is a component simply called a resource.
Resources are basic building blocks and you can think of it as a piece of a puzzle. There are many different resource types but we can mention the most important ones like datasets, files, pages, menus and even the application itself is just another type of resource.
By putting different resources together they will work in unison to provide all required features and functionality. Read on to find out about some of the most important resource types, starting with applications.
Application
An application is a collection of resources working in unison to offer a specific functionality to users. Application brings together various resources to ensure they function collectively, presenting a consolidated and comprehensive solution to a problem.
Dataset
A dataset serves as a resource for the storage and retrieval of data within an application. It can acquire data from various sources, including a database table, a REST API endpoint, or information stored on a blockchain. Almost every other resource within an application relies on data sourced from datasets, forming a fundamental link in the functionality of the application. Typically, a single application will utilize many datasets.
Page
An application is composed of one or more pages, each serving as a means for users to interact with an application. Typically, a page includes one or more form elements, commonly known as widgets. These widgets are designed to enable users to input, view, or update data within the application. In essence, a page acts as a user interface, providing an interface for users to engage with the application.
Menu
The menu is the primary navigation resource in the application. Users can navigate throughout the entire application using the application menu, while side menus are used to navigate within specific page of the application. Unlike page menus, there’s only one application menu per application.
With resources we wanted to provide a unique way of building applications with no-code. Our mission and goal is to build the most easy to use, effective and feature rich no-code platform in the world and we strongly believe that our component based approach with resources is the way to go.
